The return of Game of Thrones has been a welcome relief to 99.99% of the world’s population, and season 8 is only going to get better- and longer.
The next episode is thought to clock in at 82 minutes, making it the longest episode in the show’s history.
Kit Harrington (John Snow) revealed that the mammoth episode took 55 nights to film and the process was so mentally draining that cast members were ready ‘kill each other’ by the end.
“I’m not sure I should tell you about it, but it was so intense we were all on the edge of killing each other,” he said.
“They have really upped the budget and gone to town – it is really exciting. There are some incredible sequences, but I’ve woken up in the middle of the night recently thinking, ‘What if, after eight seasons, we’ve have mucked it up’.”
While Harrington was careful not to give anything away, it is thought that the next episode will involve the biggest television battle ever. If that’s true it would top the conic ‘Battle of the Bastards’ scene, which had to be shot 60 times!
The scene saw Lyanna Mormont pull a-now legendary facial reaction towards Ramsay during the “Battle of the Bastards” and it sent social media into meltdown. Director Miguel Sapochnik admitted that Bella Ramsey gave the “Lyanna Face” in every single take.
Vladimir Furdik, who plays the Night King, added: “In the third part of the last season, there is a battle that the creators intend to be the biggest in television history. Almost the full episode will be about the battle, it will take about an hour.”
We can’t wait!
